iSENTIUM is a technology firm that is pushing the innovation front of sentiment analysis. We are currently breaching the financial industry, however the capability for growth within a large variety of industries is highly anticipated. At the core of our technology we use a patented Natural Language Processing technology to create actionable predictive intelligent data.
Founded in 2010, iSENTIUM is the market leader in real time sentiment search. iSENTIUM’s patented technology currently supports over 8,500 U.S. stocks, indices and ETFs. iSENTIUM’s products are offered through both an APP and an API, and can also be customized based on specific customer needs. iSENSE APP, a sentiment search tool, is available through both the Bloomberg terminal and the Web. iSENSE API provides real time and historical sentiment data to systematic traders. iSENTIUM’s core technology can be customized to integrate with customers’ proprietary data sources.
iSENTIUM'S world class team comprises linguists, quants and computer scientists (including five PhDs) who have collectively published over 200 papers and 18 books. The management team brings a wealth of experience in Big Data, Linguistics, High-performance Computing, Signal Processing and Startups.
Team
Gautham Sastri, Chief Executive Officer
Gautham is a seasoned technology entrepreneur and investor. He previously founded Terrascale Technologies (acquired by Rackable Systems, now SGI) and Maximum Throughput (acquired by Avid). Terrascale's clients included several classified government agencies and also Fortune 500 companies such as Shell, Raytheon and ConocoPhillips. During his tenure at Maximum Throughput, Gautham was invited to join Intel's Server Advisory Council, which was tasked with providing key inputs to Intel's server technology roadmap. Prior to Maximum Throughput, he provided consulting services to various government agencies in Europe. From 1988 to 1996, he was a senior member of the technical staff for NEC Corporation's supercomputer division and helped set several world records in computational performance. Gautham has published numerous technical papers and has been an invited speaker at many conferences and forums. He holds two patents in the field of scalable storage and has co-authored four pending patents in the field of sentiment analysis.
Sameer Gupta, Chief Operating Officer
Sameer joined iSENTIUM as the Chief Operating Officer in 2014. Prior to this, Sameer was the COO for Global electronic trading and Americas high touch and program trading equities business at JPMorgan. Previously, he served in business development and product management roles at NYSE Technologies, the commercial technology business of NYSE Euronext. Before that, Sameer worked at Goldman Sachs in multiple roles including a technology strategy position where he advised internal and external clients on emerging trends in technology investing. He started at Goldman Sachs writing software in C++ and Java and is still passionate about Unix and Perl scripting. Sameer has a Masters in business administration from Harvard Business School, a Masters in information systems from Carnegie Mellon and a Bachelors in computer science from National Institute of Technology in India.
George Davies, Chief Data Officer
George holds a PhD in Astrophysics from Queen's University and brings a unique blend of Wall Street experience, analytical skills, and technical aptitude to iSENTIUM. Over the last 15 years, George has built up an impressive track record of developing innovative quantitative and technical solutions across a diverse set of environments. George has an extensive knowledge of analytics, data, and infrastructure and applies a bottom line focus to continually maximize their utility and collective value.
Prior to joining iSENTIUM, George was a Quantitative Analyst at UBP Asset Management where he led a data centralization effort, developed new Hedge Fund analysis tools, and vetted prospective Hedge Fund managers. Previously, he worked at ART Advisors researching and implementing Statistical Arbitrage trading strategies. Prior to ART Advisors George was a Quantitative Analyst at several trading/investment firms where he was involved in modeling a wide array of asset classes, sourcing data, and building and maintaining infrastructure.
Dr. Anna Maria Di Sciullo, Chief Technology Officer
Anna Maria is a postdoctoral scholar from MIT and a visiting scientist at M.I.T. and Harvard. She is also Full Professor in the Department of Linguistics and Associate Professor of the Cognitive Computation Program at the University of Quebec in Montreal. She is the co-author of 2 patents, has received numerous awards and has been designated a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Dr. Di Sciullo has published 18 books and over 150 papers during her career and has received research grants in excess of $8.5 Million. Her work in theoretical linguistics, and in particular in the asymmetry of natural language gave rise to MIT Press Oxford University press publications. Her work in Natural Language Processing led to the formulation of the Asymmetry Recovering Parser, providing deterministic parses for linguistic expressions. She also engineered a search engine sensitive to asymmetric relations, which has been used by the Government of Quebec to search and retrieve online legal information. Her recent work in Language and mathematics led to the engineering of a sentiment mining system based on a compositional calculus applied on asymmetric relations. She founded the Federation on Natural Language Processing, which brings together main actors in the area of theoretical linguistics, computational linguistics and information technology. More recently, she also founded the International Network on Biolinguistics bridging biology, linguistics, and Natural Language Processing.
Malik Corbett, Director of Sales
Malik Corbett is a seasoned sales professional with over 10 years in the market data industry. Malik has worked with some of the most sophisticated investors on Wall Street as a former senior sales representative at Bloomberg. Prior to joining iSENTIUM, Malik managed the North American business relationships for technology expense management provider MDSL.
Malik graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelors Degree. He played football for the Hofstra Pride as a starting defensive end and in 1999 he helped the team win the prestigious Lambert Cup Award. Malik also played professionally as a linebacker/running back for three teams in the Arena Football League.

Marc Spilker, Board Member
Marc Spilker is the Managing Member of MAS Advisory LLC. He was President of Apollo Global Management and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee from December 2010 to March 2014. Prior to joining Apollo, Marc retired from Goldman Sachs in May 2010 following a 20-year career with the firm where he served as a member of the firm-wide Management Committee and Risk Committee. He was named partner in 1996.
Marc is a Board Member of ISENTIUM and many other organizations. Marc previously served on the Investment Advisory Committee at Google and was a member of the American Stock Exchange, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Council of Economic and Fiscal Advisors for Governor Andrew Cuomo. He also served on the Boards of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, the Stone and Bridge Street Funds, BrokerTec and Bondbook, LLC. Marc graduated with a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Robert T. Rouleau, Board Member
After starting a career as an RF engineer at the Canadian Marconi Company, Bob became a founding partner of the Presud Group (Canada) and Sofran Corporation in the USA. Specializing in commercial real estate, Presud/Sofran built a $400 million portfolio consisting largely of shopping centers in Canada and the Southeastern USA.
While continuing as a partner in Presud, and returning to his first love, Bob founded Dataradio Inc., a firm specializing in high reliability wireless data communication products. Bob also authored the book “Packet Radio” published in 1981 which outlined and explained the principles of digital wireless communication which are the basis of modern cellular systems. Bob took Dataradio from a two person startup to a segment leading firm with over 200 employees when it was sold to Calamp in 2006. Bob personally designed the communications system used by NASA on the successful 1995 Mars exploration.
Bob is a Board Member of iSENTIUM. He previously served on the board of Canlyte/Genlyte until 2006 when it acquired by Philips; Stelvio Inc., a Montreal based software firm specializing in auto accident claim management.
